More bad press for Goodyear
At least it’s not a national TV show this time.
First, employees at a Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.-owned store in Commack, N.Y., were caught on ABC hidden camera giving bad service to correspondents of its show” The Lookout.”
Now a Goodyear store manager in Winter Haven, Fla., has been arrested and charged with grand theft, money laundering and scheming to defraud.
And as if that wasn’t bad enough, last week the Goodyear blimp-dominated airspace over Akron, Ohio, was invaded by the MetLife blimp and the Bud blimp during the Bridgestone Invitational.
Find out what the Florida store manager did to receive the charges in Modern Tire Dealer Senior Editor Bob Bissler’s latest blog, Publicity not so sunny for Goodyear in the Sunshine State.
Who did he try to defraud? Hint: If you’re looking to defraud someone, don’t mess with the Sheriff’s Office.
Did he confess? What happened to the two New York employees? Will the Goodyear blimp regain dominance of the skies over Akron?
