Falken Tire’s Team Brenthel places in twoclasses at Las Vegas race
Falken scored big with Team Brenthel at the Silver State 300 race near Las Vegas, Nevada.
Team Falken, manufacturer of high performance on- and off-road tires, continues to see incredible results from its WildPeak tires through competitive events with a second place in the 7200 Class and a third place in the 6100 Class in last weekend’s Best in the Desert (BITD) Silver State 300 race outside Las Vegas, courtesy of Team Brenthel, a long-time partner of the tire brand.
Falken has previously supported Team Brenthel through its participation in The Dakar Rally earlier this year. Driver Jonathon Brenthel was one of 221 entries who started the 250-mile race across the Nevada desert with only 163 finishing. Brenthel’s Trophy Truck ran on Falken WildPeak MT, sized 37X12.50R17 in the 6100 Class, where he scored a third place.
Driver Jordan Brenthel earned a second in the 7200 Class, running his truck on Falken WildPeak All-Terrain (AT) 35X12.50R15 tires, which had a special groove for high speed performance. Based on his finish in the Las Vegas race, Brenthel is currently leading the BITD championship in his class.
Falken Tire continually uses racing as a dedicated channel to test product, and with its expansion into off-road racing, the tire brand is able to experiment with new technologies and push its product to the limit. The result is an increased effort to provide Falken customers with the best product possible.
Jonathon Brenthel summed it up: “Many of the competitors were stuck and we drove right by due to the traction of our Falken MT tires. We were also able to go longer than the competition without a tire change, saving valuable downtime.”
Added Jordan: “"This kind of racing demands traction in the fine silt of the desert and extreme grip on the slippery, twisting gravel roads in the pine forests. The Falken AT's handled both extremely well and got us to the podium with zero flats.”
Best in the Desert is an off-road racing organization that sanctions and promotes desert racing events in the U.S. Among the races sanctioned by BITD are the Mint 400 and Vegas to Reno (the longest one day race in the U.S.).
