Jack Williams Tire supports wounded veterans
Jack Williams Tire $500 donation to PAWW will help support Pennsylvania's wounded veterans.
To commemorate the opening of its 29th location in Mountain Top, Pa., Jack Williams Tire Co. Inc. made a $500 donation to the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors (PAWW) organization.
PAWW is a non-profit group that aids in restoring the physical and mental health of wounded veterans in Pennsylvania.
Additionally, last fall collection tins were set up at the Jack Williams Tire locations in Wilkes-Barre, Hazelton and Kingston, Pa., in support of PAWW. The tins were the brainchild of Mary Grace Eckert, a sixth grade student at St. Jude School in Mountain Top. Since 2012, Eckert has been actively involved in the PAWW organization, raising almost $5,000 to date for wounded veterans in the state through the coin collection tins at businesses in Pennsylvania and by selling holiday greeting cards that are distributed to the veterans.
The Jack Williams Tire $500 donation to PAWW will help support the state’s wounded veterans with needed items such as furnaces to heat homes, vehicle conversions, to trips to local amusement parks.
One hundred percent of all proceeds raised are used to help cater to the needs of Pennsylvania’s wounded veterans.
