Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. went through a reorganization last week. Although the company would not comment on which departments were affected, it did share a few details with Modern Tire Dealer.


Yokohama Brings R&D to Charlotte, N.C.

Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has established a tire research and development center in North Carolina, with R&D activities scheduled to start this September -- initially in the greater Charlotte area.


Linglong hires Hagan away from Kumho

Less than two years after joining Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. as national sales vice president, John Hagan has joined Linglong Americas Inc. as chief operating officer. He will be based out of Medina, Ohio.

Kenda says ‘No’ to status quo

To Jimmy Yang, vice-chairman of Kenda Rubber Ind. Co. Ltd., status quo is unacceptable. The 52-year-old company was already one of the largest producers of specialty tires in the world when it began manufacturing passenger tires in 2001.

Yokohama and the USW agree on a 4-year deal

Yokohama Tire Manufacturing Virginia LLC, a Yokohama Tire Corp. subsdiary, has signed a new four-year contract with United Steelworkers (USW) Local 1023, according to Tetsuro “Tex” Murakami, the subsidiary's president.


Marangoni wants to sell tire plant in Italy

The Marangoni Group is serious about selling its consumer tire manufacturing plant in Anagni, Italy. It has hired PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) to help with the sale.

Michelin North America Inc. marked the opening of its newest manufacturing facility in South Carolina on Dec. 12, 2013. Michelin executives and employees were joined by dozens of dignitaries from across the state to celebrate the milestone: Just 17 months after breaking ground, the Anderson County earthmover tire manufacturing facility can build tires.
