Cooper tire factory in China remains closed

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s passenger and truck tire plant in Rongcheng, China, remains unmanned following a work stoppage that begin in July. The stoppage coincided with the announcement that Apollo Tyres Ltd. had purchased the Findlay, Ohio-based company.

OTR tire production is not in Toyo's future

When Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. bought out Toyo Tire & Rubber Co.'s 30% stake in their joint venture Nippon Giant Tire subsidiary on May 31, 2012, Goodyear said the reason was simple: It wanted to keep up with growing demand for OTR tires, particularly in Australia.

Kenda: Plant sale will help the company grow

The announcement on Thursday, March 3, 2011, that Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. bought out Kenda Rubber Industrial Co. Ltd.'s 50% share in their joint venture plant in Kunshan, China, came from Cooper.
