Continental AG is donating 100,000 euros to the Welthungerhilfe aid organization to support Syrian refugees.
In a preview of its first quarter earnings, Continental Corp. is reporting an increase in sales of 14%, to about 9.6 billion euros, compared to the first quarter of 2014.
Continental Corp.'s sales grew by 3.6% in 2014, and the company is projecting a 5% increase in 2015 alongside an expected moderate growth of passenger car production, says Elmar Degenhart, chairman of the executive board.
The final results won't be published until Thursday, May 3. But Continental AG previewed its first-quarter financial results for 2012.

Continental AG posted earnings before interest and taxes of 634 million euros on consolidated sales of more than 7.3 billion euros for the first quarter ended March 31, 2011. That compares to EBIT of 494.4 million euros on sales of 6 billion euros for the same period in 2010.
Continental AG wanted to do something to show its "solidarity" with the people of Japan following the 9.0-magnitude earthquake that devastated the country one month ago on March 11.
