The Tire Alliance Groupe (TAG) is adding another tire to its portfolio: Pantera. The private brand tire will be produced by Qingdao Sentury Tire Co. Ltd. in Thailand.
According to TAG CEO and President Paul Alves, the tire will be available only to TAG members. TAG also offers Pirelli, Yokohama, Falken, Hankook, Black Lion, Autogrip, Achilles and Vee Rubber brand tires.
Maxwell Wee, director of sales for Sentury Tire Americas, says the Pantera touring tire will be available this month in 50 SKUs, broken out as follows:
13-inch (4): from 165/70R13 79T/H to 175/70R13 82T/H.
14-inch (15): from 165/70R14 81T/H to 195/60R14 86H.
15-inch (16): from 215/75R15 100H to 195/50R15 82V.
16-inch (15): from 215/65R16 98H to 205/45ZR16 XL 87W.
Three other Pantera lines will be available for order by October, adds Wee. They will address the UHP (30 sizes, from 16 inches to 20 inches), performance SUV (24 sizes, including 275/25ZR30 XL 108W) and crossover and SUV (29 sizes) segments.
There also will be three LT tires available by the first quarter of 2017: a mud-terrain (eight LT sizes, including two 20-inch sizes); all-terrain (22 LT sizes and two metric sizes); and highway terrain (14 LT sizes). They can be ordered in December.
TAG is made up of 16 members representing 2,500 retail points of sale nationwide. Alves says there are still spots throughout the U.S. that are under-represented by TAG, and the group “would entertain membership in those areas.”
