Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc. says the Falken Tire brand already is seeing an uptick in exposure halfway through its first year as the Official Tire of Major League Baseball (MLB). The brand is on full display this week during the All-Star FanFest at the San Diego Convention Center.

Falken Tires will entertain fans at FanFest with a 1/10th scale, San Diego-inspired R/C track. The R/C experience merges Falken’s heritage in motorsports with its current MLB sponsorship by featuring drift cars decorated with MLB team logos.

The brand also will be on display during the nationally televised Home Run Derby on July 11 and 2016 All-Star Game on July 12.

“We’re at the midway point in our first year as the Official Tire of MLB and we couldn’t be more enthused about our partnership,” says Vice President of Marketing for Falken Tires Rick Brennan. “Through our sponsorship with MLB, we’ve been able to expose our brand and products to many new audiences throughout the US in a relatively short amount of time.”

“With our FanFest experience, we’ve designed it to be very engaging,” says Brennan. “We have an extremely detailed R/C track replicating the streets of San Diego. We also have a photo booth where fans can Grip the Moment by simulating a home run-saving catch and then share the image on social media. We are excited about having thousands of fans experience the booth during the five-day event.”
