Yokohama Tire Corp. is the latest manufacturer to announce a 2017 price increase. The hike affects all tires sold in the U.S., and is effective April 1.

Yokohama says it will raise prices by up to 7%; the increase includes consumer, commercial and off-the-road tires.

“This pricing action is necessitated by the high cost of raw materials and freight expenses that have impacted us in 2016 and will continue to be a factor in the business,” says Rick Phillips, vice president of sales for Yokohama.

Phillips says some in-line adjustments across consumer, commercial and OTR lines will be determined within the month.
