Exactly eight months after Sears Holdings Corp. announced it was lending its popular DieHard brand name to a new line of tires, the company is revealing a new store concept: the DieHard Auto Center Driven by Sears. The first store opens Feb. 17.
In a media alert, the company says it will open the DieHard Auto Center Driven by Sears in San Antonio. Sears says the auto center "is designed to meet the ever-changing needs of today's driver," and features interactive in-store displays and advanced diagnostic technology.
And yes, the store — the "first of its kind" — will sell tires.
The services include
- DieHard 360° Vehicle Assessment: Comprehensive, third-party, 120-point inspection to assess the exact vehicle condition to help customers buy, sell or maintain with confidence.
- Free Performance Snapshot: A four-wheel alignment test, tire evaluation and a system diagnostic check – completed all in one stop – that provides an easy-to-understand report with recommendations to evaluate vehicle service needs.
- Digital Tire Journey: A web app that helps customers identify the appropriate tires to fit their driving preferences. Customers can also use touchscreens in store to access the Digital Tire Journey.
Sears will host a ribbon cutting at the store at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, and it will offer specials to consumers on batteries, tires and oil changes throughout the weekend. The store is located at 8551 Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX, 78240.
