Forty-four years after the first Jensen Tire & Auto Inc. store opened, the Omaha, Neb.-based business is breaking ground on a new headquarters.

The 8,200-square-foot office will encompass 19 executive offices, two meeting rooms, a training room, large reception area and a 14,000-square foot warehouse that will hold 25,000 tires. Construction is expected to be complete in November 2017.

The headquarters is being built on 4.5 acres at 13572 Lynam Drive in Papillion, Neb. A groundbreaking event originally scheduled for March 30 was postponed due to weather, and is rescheduled for 2 p.m. on April 11.

Matthew Jensen, president of the company, says, “We are investing more than $4 million to create a state-of-the-art corporate work setting to provide expert training to our team of dedicated tire and automotive service specialists, and to strengthen our team’s service excellence skills to best provide for our current and valued customers, as well as new customers we plan to attract as we expand regionally.”

Jensen Tire & Auto has grown to 21 locations, and the tire dealer says it is the largest local, family-owned and operated retail tire and automotive service company in Nebraska. Jensen Tire employs more than 200 associates, and is tied for No. 54 on the Modern Tire Dealer 100.

The business provides complete tire service and auto services, and sells these major tire brands: Goodyear, Michelin, BFGoodrich, Sumitomo, Kelly, Cordovan, Cooper, Uniroyal, Toyo, Dunlop and Hankook.
