The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is partnering with the Car Care Council during this month's National Car Care Month by creating a social media campaign to highlight tire safety and tips.

Throughout the month of April, The Tire Industry Association will provide key safety tips to educate drivers in the following areas:

No coins - an easy, accurate, and fast check of a tire's tread depth without a coin;

Don't ignore the light - understanding the importance of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS);

Prevent a blowout - locating a tire bulge and its hazardous impact on driving; and

Air pressure check - knowing how, and how often, to check the condition of tires

The social media campaign will run the entire month of April. Follow or join the conversation on Twitter @TheTireIndustry and @CarCareCouncil, using the hashtags #TireSafety and #NationalCarCareMonth.

"We are excited to join Car Care Council this month to help promote proper car maintenance and tire safety for drivers," says Roy Littlefield, executive vice president of TIA. "TIA takes great pride in making sure that tire safety, training, and education is accessible to everyone for a safer driving experience."
