United Tire and Service LLC’s “I PROMise to Drive United” safe-driving campaign for teens includes an all-expense paid limousine ride to a school event for up to nine high-school students.

Exciting events like prom and graduation are meant to be memorable events for our community,” says Ken Sylvester, a founding partner of the independent tire group whose members are located in Pennsylvania’s Delaware Valley.

“All of our 17 shops are locally owned. Therefore, we are your neighbors; we drive the same roads and live in the same communities. By going beyond providing unparalleled service to vehicles and acting as an advocate for safe driving, we are hoping to minimize disasters on the road due to distracted and careless driving.”

United Tire and Service locations are partnering with local high schools to sponsor safety initiatives for drivers of all ages.

By pledging to “Drive United,” motorists are eligible to nominate a local high school student to receive an all-expense paid limo ride to prom (or other school event) for up to eight other students.

Community members will be able to cast their nominations up to April 26, 2017.

United Tire and Service is partnering with Eagle Chauffeured Services of Glen Mills to make the limo ride grand prize possible.

United Tire and Service cited a recent study by Mothers Against Drunk Driving which showed car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens and roughly a quarter of those crashes involved an underage drunk driver. Teen alcohol use takes over 4,700 victims each year, the majority of which happen during the months of April-July. In addition to driving under the influence, other distractions, such as texting, inhibit students to fully concentrate behind the wheel.
