Walt Weller says the improved warranty applies to all Double Coin tires produced in 2017 and sold in the U.S., Mexico, Canada and Central America.

Double Coin Holdings Ltd. is extending the warranty on radial truck tires to seven years and three retreads. Walt Weller, vice president of China Manufacturers Alliance LLC (CMA) announced the new warranty terms at the North American Tire and Retread Expo (NATRE).The upgraded warranty is effective immediately and applies to all Double Coin radial truck tires manufactured starting the first week of 2017.  Weller said the reason for the increased warranty is “to give our dealers the confidence in our tires.”

The old warranty on Double Coin radial truck tires was either five years and two retreads or seven years and two retreads. Weller said the company’s research data from an eight-year evaluation performance study and input from customers led to the new warranty.

“There had been conversation in the market about some retreaders not accepting Chinese-produced tires for retreading. We wanted to separate ourselves,” said Weller.

The warranty applies to tires in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Central America. Weller said the warranty is the best of any Chinese manufacturer and is on par with premium brands as well.

Double Coin currently produces truck tires in three Chinese plants and will begin production at a new facility in Thailand by mid-year. Those tires will also carry the same warranty.

CMA is a subsidiary of Double Coin.
