Rockstar Energy Drink driver Tanner Foust is back in action this week for the Global Rallycross Championship season opener in Memphis, Tennessee. He is set to make a championship charge in an all-new 2017 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Beetle.

"We're looking forward to introducing the latest evolution of the Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Beetle to the series this week," said Foust. "The Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team and Volkswagen Motorsport have been working together in the off-season to develop a new evolution of the car and the tremendous effort shows Volkswagen's commitment to always pushing forward."

The two-time Global Rallycross champion this year returns to the Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team as a favorite for the title. In 2016, he finished second in the points with podium results in six of 12 rounds, including four outright wins and a record breaking run of 25 consecutive heat and semi-final wins. Fans will see Foust's all new black, gray and yellow Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Beetle in competition for the first time at this weekend's Memphis opener.

The Global Rallycross series has 12 races on the calendar in 2017, with stops in five exciting new cities as well as a return to familiar fan favorites. In addition to new stops in Memphis, Louisville, Kentucky, and Thompson, Connecticut, the series visits Indianapolis for the first time and adds a stop in Canada when it travels to Ottawa in June for a doubleheader weekend.

The series returns to Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Seattle before heading to Los Angeles for its exciting season finale in October. Full coverage of all 12 rounds of rallycross competition airs live on NBC.

"There's a lot of variety on the schedule this year," said Foust. "It's been great seeing the growth of rallycross in the U.S. over the past six seasons and I'm looking forward to having the chance to bring the sport of rallycross to new venues and new fans."

In addition to a full Global Rallycross Championship schedule, Foust is campaigning select events in other racing disciplines, including an off-season appearance at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill in a Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo and at the Mint 400 last month where he raced a Polaris RZR in the UTV class. The former Top Gear USA co-host is also working on several television projects that are yet to be announced.
