Omni United (S) Pte. Ltd. has appointed Phillip Caris executive director of its U.S. businesses. He will oversee all of the company's operations in the U.S. Caris spent 32 years at Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. where he served as vice president of marketing, director of marketing, director of sales and marketing for Europe operations, director of strategic marketing and most recently, vice president of sales for North America.
He also served on the boards of Cooper-Avon Tyres, Mickey Thompson Tires and Cooper Mexico’s operations.
Over the last 18 months Omni has acquired two distribution companies in the U.S. and has been expanding its business footprint. While the company continues to sell to a number of mid-size wholesalers and large retail chains in the U.S., its own distribution business spans 24 warehouses that serve over 10,000 dealers.
The company says Caris will be expected to play a pivotal role in growing Omni United's distribution business while also catering to the interests of its existing distribution customers. Caris' key areas of focus will include acquiring new companies and consolidation of Omni's U.S. business.
