Alliance Tire Group (ATG) has named Nitin Mantri chief executive officer. He has been transitioning into the role since February 2017 when he joined the company as “CEO designate.”

Mantri replaces ATG’s founder and CEO Yogesh Mahansaria, who is leaving the company. ATG was acquired by Yokohama Rubber Co. in 2016.

Mantri joins ATG from Cummins Inc., and has more than 23 years of global experience in general management, operations, business development and strategic planning.

His last position at Cummins was general manager for the fuel systems business, where he led a team of over 3,000 employees across five countries, according to ATG.

Prior to joining Cummins, he worked at the Boston Consulting Group in their Atlanta office, developing business strategies for Fortune 500 companies.  He has also worked at Comau-Pico, a division of Fiat SpA in Detroit and also at Bharat Forge in Pune, where he started his career as a manufacturing engineer.

“Our ambition is to become a $1B company by 2020,” says Mantri.

“We plan to strengthen our position as the global leader in Off-Highway tires by continuing our focus on providing the best value tire to our customer, while improving our quality to world class levels by leveraging expertise from our new owners, Yokohama Rubber Co.”

ATG has a wide range of offerings for agricultural, forestry, construction and earthmoving segments and three brands: Alliance, Galaxy and Primex. ATG is a fully owned subsidiary of Yokohama Rubber Co.
