Australian Drift Champion and Formula Drift competitor, Josh Robinson invaded the Street Driven Tour at Virginia International Raceway over the May 19-21 weekend bringing the TRI-ACE Tires Team with him.
The new Holden Ute was the most identifiable racer on the VIR drift course sporting the TRI-ACE wrap, and Josh was the most identifiable character demonstrating to the several thousand in attendance how to burn up the course with a 1000 plus horsepower LS engine. It certainly earmarked why TRI-ACE Tires uses the “Smokin’ Hot” tagline as their Racing King and Carrera tires were toasted from the LS power.
Josh pointed out that the difference with TRI-ACE is the exceptional grip which he demonstrated with World Class precision and control making the course navigation look more like a sharp down-hill “giant slalom”.
The VIR Hyperfest event showcased racers of all levels from coast to coast with multiple events such as the National Auto Sport Association(NASA) road racing & rally rides, Off Road obstacle course for 4x4’s, Monster truck rides, burnout contest and more. The sprawling complex survived the spurts of rain for the thousands of spectators and participants.
Hyperfest showed why it is a great American platform for all who have the “need for speed” to let their hair down and have some fun with their pride and joy. Among the recognizable participants were Global pro drifters besides Josh Robinson such as Forrest Wang and American stars Dirk Stratton, Jeff Stoneback, Nate Hamilton, Kevin Laurence, Vaugh Griffin Jr, Chelsea DeNofa, and up and comer Art Lickliter. There were many NASA competitors including Dr. Ed Bull competing for the national championship.
TRI-ACE’s Senior Brand Manager Jack Bidding said: “When Josh put the Street Dirven Tour on his schedule and asked us to be there we were hoping it was the type venue that could help our initiatives. After experiencing VIR, we witnessed the definite value participating with the enthusiasts and racers and want to be a part of the upcoming series in St. Louis, Las Vegas and Atlanta. The reception provided by event organizers Jayke Milton and Brian Eggert will encourage our involvement in their future events.”
