Wade Kawasaki has been a SEMA member for more than 35 years, and been a member of the board of directors for three consecutive terms.

In July Wade Kawasaki, president and chief operating officer for the Coker Group, will begin his term as chairman of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) board of directors. Kawasaki served as chairman-elect of the board for the 2015-2017 term, and now moves up to chairman. Tim Martin, chief operations officer for K&N Engineering Inc., will take Kawasaki's place as chairman-elect for the 2017-2019 term.

James Lawrence, CEO of Power Automedia LLC also will join the SEMA board of directors, and Greg Adler, CEO and president of Transamerican Auto Parts, was re-elected to another term.

SEMA board members volunteer their time to lead and guide the association. They are elected by all SEMA-member companies and represent the key membership categories: manufacturers, distributors/retailers, manufacturers’ reps, and services.

The entire 2017-2018 SEMA board of directors will be recognized during the SEMA Installation Gala July 28. Former Chair/Secretary Nate Shelton will conclude his volunteer term and be honored for his contributions, and the 2017 SEMA hall of fame inductees will be recognized: GiGi Carleton, Doug Evans and Barry Meguiar.
