Snider Fleet Solutions coverage reaches 75% of the continental U.S. thanks to the purchase of 27 commercial outlets from Tire Centers LLC.

Snider Tire Inc. has acquired 27 commercial locations from Michelin North America Inc.’s Tire Centers LLC (TCi) subsidiary.

The company, which goes to market as Snider Fleet Solutions, says the purchase extends the reach of its distribution network to 75% of the continental United States.

“This acquisition extends our coverage throughout the eastern United States,” says John Snider, CEO and president. “It allows us to help our customers in more locations and provide our expert services to new customers.”

The acquisitions extend Snider Fleet Solution’s coverage into Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia and Louisiana, while also adding additional locations in Florida, Texas, and Tennessee.

Snider Fleet Solutions has grown from a single tire store opened in 1976 to more than 80 commercial tire and mechanical services locations today. Its 76 commercial tire service outlets place it at No. 16 on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list of the nation's largest independent tire dealers.

Snider Fleet Solutions told MTD the deal includes service trucks and other physical assets. The agreement also includes approximately 350 TCi employees, who are now part of the Snider Fleet Solutions team. The company did not release financial details of the transaction.

The acquisition brings the total number of Snider Fleet Solution employees to more than 1,500. In addition to commercial tire and mechanical services locations, Snider Fleet Solutions has 12 distribution centers. The company also operates 11 retread plants, which produce 3,300 medium truck tire retreads per day.

The company recently introduced a proprietary information management system for fleet service and says its FleetSmart technology allows technicians at any location to service trucks according to that fleet’s unique service guide.

“We’re excited to extend the reach of FleetSmart to more highways and more customers,” says Marty Herndon, executive vice president and COO. “Now our customers will know their fleet is being managed exactly to their specs across more of the U.S.”
