Point S Canada has named Daniel Labonté vice president retail, a newly created position. His appointment is effective July 31, 2017.
In his new role, Labonté will be responsible for developing the Point S brand in Canada. Labonté will also fulfill the duties of Pierre Germain, vice president network operations, who is taking a 12-month leave.
Labonté has more than 25 years of experience in networks, marketing and merchandising, according to Point S Canada. He background is in the food industry, where he most recently served as vice president of retail and operations for IGA grocery stores (Sobeys Quebec). He also was an executive vice president for Normandin Restaurants, a network of 40 restaurants in Quebec.
Point S is an independent tire and mechanical retail network with more than 3,400 outlets in 32 countries.
Point S Canada (Les Pneus Unimax) is the Canadian entity of Point S North America. The Point S entity in the U.S. is Point S USA (Tire Factory Inc.)
Point S has expanded to more than 400 locations in North America.
