L.P. Anderson Tire Co. Inc. is among eight businesses in the state of Montana that will receive a 2017 Family Business Day award.

L.P. Anderson, which dba L.P. Anderson Point S Tire & Auto Service in Billings, Mont., will be recognized in the small business category, those with 10-30 employees.

This is the 24th year for the awards, presented by the Montana State University Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship State Farm Insurance Family Business Day. The companies will receive their awards Oct. 6, 2017, during the event in Bozeman, Mont.

Jared and Amber McDermott are partners in the business with Amber's mother, Debra Bonogofsky. The business started in 1956, with a store in downtown Billings. The McDermotts are the third generation to operate the business. In 2016 the three owners opened a second location in the city's West End.
