Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. supported the first Tire Cologne show in Cologne, Germany, in an eye-catching and professional fashion. Its booth highlighted the company’s total commitment to the manufacture and on-going development of premium car, winter and "hobby" tires.
Modern Tire Dealer chatted with David Oliva, Yokohama's manager of product planning and marketing, who told us, "The products on our stand at the show are focal areas for the Yokohama brand and form part of our medium-term management plan for the future, GD2020.
"Taking center stage on our stand are several of our latest introductions to the market, including Yokohama’s initial European all season tire for passenger cars -- the BluEarth-4S AW21 -- plus the company’s flagship tire -- the Advan Sport V105 for high performance premium sport saloons."
Two other equally important, high-profile products were:
* iceGuard iG60 studless pattern for Nordic winter conditions;
* Geolander M/T G003 tire for SUV’s and pick-up trucks driving on muddy terrain.
Finally, the Alliance (Yokohama’s second brand) 030Ex AL30 was prominently on display and attracted a lot of interest. -- John Stone
