If a picture is worth 1,000 words, then the number of words represented by more than 15 million photos would surpass 15 billion. The number of repair shops using the Mobile Manager Pro automotive software solution recently reached that milestone, according to Bolt On Technology LLC.
The company says Mobile Manager Pro has increased repair orders by an average of 39%. By texting photos to their customers, shops can show, in addition to tell, their customers the severity and need for service.
Auto Smart Inc. in Wichita, Kan., was the auto repair shop credited with taking the 15 millionth picture. The store, which has four technicians, services an average of 30 vehicles a day.
"We have the technicians check the vehicle and send the inspection directly to the customer," says Scott Bahruth, owner and operator of the seven-bay shop. "Many times, the customers respond very quickly, looking for the estimate to approve."
Bahruth also credits digital inspections for saving their team a lot of money due to no longer having customers blame them for damage. He also uses the software when performing used car pre-purchase inspections.
