Scott Friedman is joining Tirescanner to serve as vice president of sales for the company that wants to help tire dealers sell tires online. Friedman joins Tirescanner after leading the marketing at Jack Williams Tire Co. Inc. for the past three years. He previously worked in start-ups and for marketing agency Stream, focusing on the automotive and tire industry.

Welch has launched Tirescanner as an online marketplace that works to drive sales to brick and mortar tire retailers, and Welch says the company specifically is focusing on mid-sized and smaller retailers. Tirescanner says it can make a retailer "live" on the platform within an hour.
