Qingdao Nama Industrial Co. Ltd.has chosen Jack Oh to run its Nama Tire America division and grow its North American distribution network.
In the newly created role of Nama Tire America president, Oh will direct Nama Tire America’s operations, including sales and marketing functions, and will be responsible for expanding the company’s presence in the United States and Canada.
Oh told MTD that Nama Tire America wants to build its North American sales network and is targeting regional tire dealerships and distributors. The company – which manufactures passenger, light truck and radial truck and bus tires – operates plants in China, Vietnam and Thailand.
Light truck tires, including mud-terrain and “rugged-terrain” tires, will be a particular area of focus. Oh said that rugged-terrain light truck tires “are a new trend in the market. Drivers who prefer mud-terrain tires are now considering rugged-terrain” products.
“We also are going to expand our passenger line,” he said. “We will have a full range.”
“Positioning itself to offer superb service to its growing number of American consumers, Nama Tire America (also) plans to open its first distribution center in Southern California under Jack Oh’s management,” say Nama Tire America officials.
Oh has more than 30 years of experience and has held leadership roles at a variety of tire companies, including Nexen Tire America Inc.
