The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has added a class on its seven-city Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Instructor Tour.

The class will take place March 24-27 in Charlotte, N.C., at the NASCAR Technical Institute. It will cover vehicle lifting; lug not torque procedures; tire repair procedures; tire pressure monitoring system identification, diagnostics and relearn procedures; tire balancing; and other topics.

“The Certified ATS Instructor class is a combination of classroom and hands-on instruction,” say TIA officials. “It covers all of the industry guidelines from TIA, the Rubber Manufacturers Association, the Automotive Lift Institute and the Tire and Rim Association.

“Following the training and successful completion of the (course's) final exam, students are recognized as TIA Certified ATS Instructors, which gives them the credentials to return to the dealership to train and certify technicians."
