Tire Source is getting a boost from what may seem like an unusual partner and platform — the company that owns the nation's TV shopping channels QVC and HSN.
Qurate Retail Group owns QVC and HSN, as well as six other e-commerce and catalog brands. And as part of the company's $29 million COVID-19 global relief efforts Qurate Retail Group is highlighting 20 small businesses on its platforms, and Ohio-based Tire Source is one of those businesses.
The goal of the Small Business Spotlight, which includes a partnership with the National Retail Federation Foundation, is to help the 20 small businesses navigate the turmoil created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program also gives Tire Source access and the availability to tap Qurate Retail Group's team members for advice through a virtual mentoring initiative.
Tire Source’s story began appearing on QVC’s and HSN’s websites and social media pages on May 11 and the company will be highlighted on QVC at Noon and 9 p.m. on May 22 and on HSN at 1:55 p.m. and 10:55 p.m.
“We are extremely excited to be a part of the 20 small businesses selected for the Small Business Spotlight Program. We understand how important our business is to our communities, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Tom White, president and founder of Tire Source. “We were able to remain open as an essential business in order to service the general public, first responders, state highway patrol, and the like. Although we remained open, we still felt the economic effects, which is why we appreciate this program so much to get our brand and story out to the public.”
Tire Source has six locations in northeast Ohio.
“We have a special relationship with the small business community, which generates so much of the innovation that drives our economy and has played a special role in the growth of our business,” says Mike George, CEO and president of Qurate Retail Inc. “Ordinarily, the companies in our Small Business Spotlight would not be on QVC, HSN, or Zulily, because they are not part of our vendor family. Our aim with this initiative is to help rally the public around these vital businesses, so they can come through this crisis and continue to anchor their local communities for many years to come.”
The Small Business Spotlight began May 11 and continues through June 6.
