The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced its Farm Tire Service (FTS) Program released last year has won a Telly Award in the safety category.
This is TIA’s second Telly for 2013 as the Winter Tire Replacement video was also recognized in the online safety category. It is the fifth Telly for TIA. The Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) Program won in 2009 and the Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Program won two awards in 2010.
TIA says the Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.
With more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and 21 countries, winning a Telly Award is a prestigious honor. Other 2013 winners included 121 Fortune 500 companies, 272 non-profit organizations and 75 worldwide media brands, according to TIA.
“The FTS Program is important for our members that service farm, agricultural and construction tire and wheel assemblies,” says Ken Brown, TIA president. “Winning two Telly awards for safety is a perfect example of why Tire Safety Starts Here and TIA remains the undisputed leader in technician training and certification.”
Farm Tire Service was developed with the cooperation of the Bridgestone Agricultural Tire division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC. Bridgestone provided TIA with unlimited access to their test center in Columbiana, Ohio, and assisted TIA throughout the production phase of the project.

FTS is a 200-level basic training program and is available in the traditional video/workbook format as well as through TIA’s Online University. It addresses the step-by-step procedures and industry guidelines for servicing different types of farm, agricultural and construction tires.
