Brityrex has first TyreTalk seminar speaker

June 30, 2014

The organizers of Brityrex International announced that a tire legislation campaigner Frances Molley is the first speaker to be confirmed for the series of TyreTalk seminars at Brityrex International which takes place Oct. 7-9 in EventCity, Manchester, England.

Molloy is lobbying the UK government to change the law on the sale and fitting of over-age tires, following the death of her son Michael, who was killed in a crash caused by a blowout of a second-hand tire almost 20-years old.

There is currently no UK law preventing the fitting of tires because of their age, which is a loophole she is determined to close.

Molloy, who is chief executive of Health@Work and Chair of Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust, will describe the impact of the crash on her family and her ongoing campaign to change the law.

The free TyreTalk seminars will cover topical subjects of interest to all show visitors, including tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) servicing and repair; European Union tire Labelling regulation; the NTDA’s work with Trading Standards on part worn tires, illegal tire dumping and disposal, and tire aging.

Her presentation will take place Wednesday Oct. 8 at 11.00 am.

Further speakers will be announced in the near future.
