Mickey Thompson gives back via United Way

April 30, 2014

Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels was recently recognized for outstanding achievement by the Summit County (Ohio) United Way.

In 2013, Mickey Thompson employees pitched in as volunteers on the annual Day of Action and also raised more than $10,000 – a 36% increase over the previous year’s campaign.

The Day of Action was established as a day of work and fun to aid local nonprofit health and human service agencies in Summit County. Volunteers may help with a variety of duties including cleaning up playgrounds and painting, reading to children, delivering meals to those in need and a variety of other projects that benefit the community.

“Our involvement with the United Way of Summit County is another example of the passion that the members of Team M/T exhibit for the well-being of our company and community," says Chris Barbara, president, Mickey Thompson. "We are proud to be part of a dedicated effort to help improve the lives of those in our community by contributing to programs that provide greater opportunities for those in need. Under the continued leadership of Team M/T Human Resource leaders Tamara Smith and Tiffany Thuma, Mickey Thompson will continue to make charitable giving and event participation a priority.”

The 2014 Day of Action is scheduled for June 20. For more information, visit http://www.uwsummit.org/.
