The board of directors for the Independent Tire Dealers Group LLC (ITDG) tendered the contract. CEO and President Mike Cox accepted its terms.
So Cox will continue to oversee ITDG through December 31st, 2018.
Board members voted unanimously to offer the contract extension to Cox at their March 13, 2014, meeting held in Los Angeles, Calif. Since joining ITDG in 2003, Cox has taken the group from a small regional player to a nationally respected organization representing more than 500 tire and automotive service locations in 34 states.
"The board felt that providing for Mr. Cox’s continued services is in the best interest of the company and its shareholders," said the board in an official statement.
ITDG carries Continental, General, Cooper, GiTi, Hankook, Pirelli, Sumitomo and Yokohama tires. It also is the exclusive distributer for the Diamondback tire line, and offers its members a full complement of auto parts, insurance and other product lines to support the diverse membership.
