Virginia Tire & Auto hosted racing legend and Firestone brand spokesman Mario Andretti on Thursday, April 3, at its location in the Broadlands community in Ashburn, Va.
Andretti was in town to represent the Firestone brand at Virginia Tire & Auto's newest location in Ashburn. Andretti visited with fans and signed autographs. Virginia Tire & Auto is a family-owned business that has been in operation since 1976. It is based in Fairfax, Va., and has 12 locations in northern Virginia.
Andretti was named Driver of the Century by the Associated Press. He was a longtime test driver for the Firestone brand and helped develop the racing tire that led to many of his most notable achievements, including victories in the Indianapolis 500 and Daytona 500, three Champ Car National Championships, and the F1 World Championship. Andretti’s relationship with the Firestone brand spans four decades.
