Why vehicle recalls hurt tire dealers

When vehicle manufacturers announce major recalls, independent tire dealers should cringe.

Why? Because those vehicles end up in car dealerships, giving savvy salesmen a chance to sell additional services. That includes selling vehicle owners new tires.
