Love’s Travel Stops is adding Continental brand tires, doubling the number of shops offering light mechanical services, and increasing warehouse space at many truck service locations.
The additional brands provide professional drivers with a well-rounded tire selection, according to Tom Love, founder and executive chairman. “The lifeblood of a driver is being on the road, and we believe it’s our responsibility to offer the best range of products and services to get them back on the road quickly, safely and with proven products.”
Continental Tire Americas LLC says the Eco Plus steer tire, Conti EcoPlus HD3 drive tire and all wide single products, as well as the General Tire brand ST250 trailer tire will be offered. The tires are:
* 265/70R19.5J HTR1 18P trailer;
* 275/80R22.5H HSL2 ECO+ 16P steer;
* 295/75R22.5H CED3 16P drive;
* 255/70R22.5H HTL ECO+ 16P trailer; and
* 295/75R22.5G CET3/HT3 14P trailer.
Love's added Goodyear brand tires in January 2014. The truck service centers also sell Bridgestone, Firestone, Aeolus, Michelin, BFGoodrich and Yokohama brands as well as retreads from Michelin Retread Technologies.
In addition, the company says it expects to double the number of locations offering light mechanical services. Currently, light mechanical services are offered at nearly 70 of the more than 180 Love’s Truck Tire Care locations.
“We’ve received an overwhelmingly positive response since light mechanical services were introduced in 2012. We’re fortunate to be in the position to expand and give truck drivers easy access to services that are imperative to their livelihoods,” says Love.
Love’s also is reinvesting in its existing truck tire care centers. Immediate plans call for adding warehouse space to many shops. The expanded facilities will give professional drivers waiting on services a comfortable place to rest. All newly constructed tire shops will feature attached and enclosed bays, more room and increased amenities.
