Look for Atturo tires at the Lucas Oil series

March 18, 2014

Atturo Tire Corp. is entering the racing scene in 2014 with a sponsorship of the Hunter Racing team in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.

Hunter Racing will compete in the Pro Lite class of the Lucas Oil Off Road series with drivers Eric Hunter and Ronnie Faisst. Atturo also will be a contingency sponsor for the full Lucas Oil Off Road professional and regional race series.

Short course off road racing is one of the fastest growing motorsports programs in the country, according to Michael Mathis, Atturo's co-owner and vice president of international marketing. The series combines high horsepower vehicles with big jumps and door-to-door racing -- all at a fan friendly track viewable from the grandstand.

“The Pro Lite class is our choice because they require DOT tires. The Trail Blade M/T on the Hunter Racing truck is the exact same tire we sell every day.

"We believe that great tires do not have to cost a lot of money," says Mathis. "This will be an excellent venue to prove how the Atturo Trail Blade M/T keeps performance within reach.”

Atturo will field its Trail Blade M/T tire, which features the knife blade inspired tread design to showcase the strength and high level of traction this design affords.

“The short course track is a pretty harsh environment for a tire," says Hunter. "The Trail Blade really performs great, with the sidewall tread blades giving excellent lateral grip out of the corners as the truck rotates around.”

The Lucas Oil series is one of the premier programs for short course off road racing. The schedule includes nine race weekends, with television broadcast on Mav TV, CBS and CBS Sports Network. There will be more than 70 hours of television coverage for the 2014 series.

Atturo is also participating as a contingency sponsor in the Lucas Oil Off Road professional and regional series. In addition to the nine professional race events, Lucas Oil Off Road presents regional race series in Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah.

The first race of the season is March 22-23 at Wild Horse Motorsports Park in Chandler, Ariz.
