'Aftermarket 101' is designed for new employees
The University of the Aftermarket will present its annual “Aftermarket 101” program at Federal-Mogul Corp. headquarters in Southfield, Mich., June 10-11, 2014. It is being offered in partnership with the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association.
The day-and-a-half program was specifically created for new employees in the automotive or heavy-duty aftermarket. It is designed to provide them with a better understanding of the industry, its structure and trends.
Specific topics include:
* Industry Basics, Channels and Terminology;
* History of the Aftermarket;
* Current State of the Aftermarket;
* The Global Aftermarket;
* Distribution: Structure and Trends;
* Service Dealer Challenges and Opportunities;
* Macro Trends: The Big Picture.
There also will be a field trip to visit a traditional warehouse distributor and store.
Participants will receive 1.2 credits toward completion of their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) designations.
