BKT debuts mud and snow OTR tire

March 6, 2014

BKT Tires (USA) Inc. has launched the Earthmax SR 22 mud and snow OTR tire for graders and loader applications. The tire provides traction and stability in snow and wintery conditions, but can be utilized for year-round operations, the company notes.

It has a five block tread design which enhances the tire’s overall traction capability in ice, snow or muddy conditions. Full-depth zigzag sipes provide traction and grip in all directions and help eliminate the possibility of skidding during operation. Tread block stiffness and reduced tread block movement result in increased overall wear resistance, traction and stability.

The Earthmax SR 22 is an all-steel radial, designed as an enhanced L2 category of tread depth (or L2T). The two steel belt construction protects the tire’s casing against impacts, punctures and rock cuts and provides an excellent, evenly distributed tire footprint, critical for traction in winter conditions.

In addition, the tread compound is designed for extreme low temperatures  and offers low rolling resistance for a long life with optimum fuel economy.

Currently available in 20.5R25, the Earthmax SR 22 also will be produced in size 17.5R25 1 Star for use on graders during the second  half of 2014.
