Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s new Eagle F1 GS-D EMT run-flat passenger tire is now an original equipment option on the model year 2002 Lexus SC 430 luxury performance car.
The size 245/40ZR18 tire can run up to 100 miles at 55 mph with no air pressure, say Goodyear officials.
"Look for more applications down the road," says Byron Meyer, marketing manager for Goodyear OE consumer tires.
The Eagle F1 GS-D EMT has been under development for 18 months, according to the Akron, Ohio-based tiremaker.
