Toyo-UFC alliance will continue 2 more years

Feb. 3, 2014

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) have announced their partnership will continue for seventh and eighth years, running through 2015. Financial terms of the agreement will not be released, says Toyo.

The extended partnership provides Toyo with more exposure than ever before across UFC’s platforms, including branding inside the Octagon:

* for two live Fox Network events, and

* during the new season of The Ultimate Fighter(TUF) Nations, which airs on Fox Sports 1 (FS1).

In addition to branding in the Fox and TUF Nations broadcasts, the Toyo Tires logo will continue to be inside the Octagon during select events on pay-per-view and FS1.

“Our increased partnership with UFC provides us even more opportunities to connect with, and introduce Toyo tires to their incredibly passionate fans,” says Amy Coleman, senior director of marketing. "From the live event broadcasts reaching more than 825 million households to the extensive media coverage and promotional opportunities, UFC provides us with worldwide, year-round exposure that is unmatched by any other sports organization.”

“As the UFC’s overall growth continues to accelerate, we’re excited to enter into a deeper partnership that leverages the avidity of our fan base and value of our reach across multiple platforms,” adds Mike Mossholder, senior vice president of global marketing partnerships for UFC.

Outside the Octagon, Toyo will again have a presence on UFC.com, which averages more than 6.7 million unique visitors per month worldwide and continues to be a top destination for UFC coverage and behind-the-scenes access. UFC fans also will see Toyo at the UFC Fan Expo in Las Vegas and at UFC tailgate parties before events.

Toyo also leverages the partnership through promotions, fighter appearances and fighter sponsorships. In 2013, Toyo Tires ran the "Drive Within Sweepstakes," and awarded one lucky fan a trip to UFC 167 and dinner with UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis.

At the 2013 SEMA Show, Toyo hosted three days of autograph signings and appearances by UFC superstars. Athletes affiliated with Toyo include Pettis; former UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick “The Dominator” Cruz; and No. 1 ranked UFC Featherweight Chad “Money” Mendes.

The UFC produces more than 46 global live events annually to 145 countries and territories in 28 different languages.
