Cameron and Heidi Steele to Team-up at Best in the Desert’s Parker 425

Jan. 29, 2014

After much anticipation, the husband and wife duo of Cameron and Heidi Steele – sponsored by Yokohama Tire Corporation, are joining forces again, this time in a Trophy Truck at the Best in the Desert’s Parker 425, January 31-February 2 in Parker, Arizona.

The last time the off-road racing couple teamed up for a race was the Mint 400 in 2010, with Cameron collaborating with Heidi to help her win the Class 7 division on off-the-shelf Yokohama Geolandar M/T+ tires.

The Desert Assassin teammates will campaign Cameron’s No. 16 Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck mounted on off-road racing-engineered Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S R tires.

“We’re going for it,” said Cameron, a veteran Trophy Truck driver and two-time SCORE (Southern California Off Road Enthusiasts) Person of the Year. “It’s our first race of the season and the first time Heidi and I will share driving duties in an 800-horsepower Trophy Truck.”
Heidi, a four-time SCORE Class champion, moved up to Trophy Trucks last season and made history by partnering with co-driver Jessica McMillin to form the first all-woman Trophy Truck driver tandem in SCORE racing.

“Heidi and I make a good pair and it will be a fun way to start the season,” said Cameron. “Last year was great for us, but we’re all in for 2014. We’re going to be in every race thanks to the durability of our Yokohama tires. The compound is incredible and they are the most drivable, dependable tire out there.”
“We constantly work with Cameron, Heidi and the Desert Assassins team on the development and improvement of the Geolandar tire they race with,” said Duane Sampson, YTC motorsports manager. “Off-road racing is very demanding and the proven durability of the Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S R tires will help put the team in the best position to win.”
