Is there a difference between "boss-napping" and kidnapping? No. Or, at least, there shouldn't be.
Union workers at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s Amiens plant in northern France kidnapped two managers because the workers were not happy with what is happening with the plant. The press often refers to this negotiating ploy as "boss-napping," which seems to take away from the severity of the action itself.
Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich takes exception with the French union in his latest blog, "Kidnapping plot: Goodyear workers in France should be arrested."
