Point S Opens 2 Stores in China

June 22, 2020

Point S International has opened its first two stores in China, and says the global pandemic will not stand in the way of its goal of opening 1,000 locations in the country by 2025.

Point S is partnering with two mayor players in the Chinese automotive maintenance market, Suremoov and Harson. Combined they already have more than 1,200 locations in China. The partners announced their plans for Point S stores in China in 2019.

The two new stores, which opened May 29 and June 6, are located in the city of Foshan (near Canton, in the south of the country). The openings attracted more than 3,000 customers who Point S said were "curious to discover the Point S concept." One of the locations has 15 bays, the other has 10. Both are decked out in the group's blue and green colors and branding.

Mr. Lan, founder of Suremoov, said, "Both Suremoov and Harson respectively have 16 to 20 years of retail chain operating experience, so this, combined with the Point S brand, supply system and other resources, will enable retailers to achieve breakthroughs in gross profit and store management."

Fabien Bouquet, Point S International CEO, said, "The health crisis did not affect our ambitions or change our business plan for the Chinese market and, on the contrary, confirmed our market scenarios which will accelerate and support the attractiveness of our local franchise offer and our brand with independent Chinese players in our sector."

Suremoov was created in 2004 and has more than 950 points of sale that specialize in body work and quick maintenance. Harson has more than 250-plus locations that specialize in the maintenance of high-end European vehicles.

Globally, Point S has more than 5,500 locations in 39 countries. The group sells more than 18 million tires a year and has sales of more than 3 billion euros.
