Federal Xplora R/T Wins Design Award

June 5, 2020

The Xplora R/T from Federal Tire North America LLC has won a 2020 iF Design Award.

The tire won in the Automobiles/Vehicles Category of the Product Discipline. The annual competition is organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH. The Xplora R/T all-terrain tire was among 7,298 entries from 56 countries submitted to the contest. It was judged on its uniqueness, execution, workmanship and aesthetic.

Federal says the Xplora R/T provides consumers optimum balancing for on- and off-road excursions: durability off-road and diminished noise on-road. The open grooves deliver off-road traction and dispersion of water and sludge. Fatigue-resistant compounds offer carcass protection from external damage, plus durability against rubber deterioration and aging. The tire’s center linear blocks elevate on-road straight-line stability and comfort.

"Recognized and winning iF Design Award is truly monumental to the Federal Tires brand and products," says Joe Kao, operations manager for Federal. "We are very proud that our Xplora R/T has received such high recognition from the iF DESIGN Council, and Federal Tires will continue to improve our product competitiveness through continuous R&D, bold thinking, and innovative design."

The Xplora R/T has previously received the Good Design Award from Chicago..
