TIA Trains 198 Techs During First Week of Free Webinars

During its first week of free webinars for passenger and light truck tire technicians, the Tire Industry Association (TIA) reported that 198 people participated in one of the nine 30-minute classes on vehicle lifting. On May 19, TIA started six consecutive weeks of free online video-conference training classes for tire retailers.

The second week’s course, which takes place May 26-28, will focus on demounting, mounting and inflation. Registration is still open, according to TIA officials

Registration also is open for the third week of classes, which will take place June 2-4 and will cover tire balancing.

Each session is led by a TIA staff trainer, who provides instruction and answers questions during and after class. The remaining Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Webinars are as follows:

Week 4 (June 9-11) – Wheel Torque

Week 5 (June 16-18) – Tire Repair

Week 6 (June 23-25) – TPMS Service

The ATS Webinars at held at 10:00 am, 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm EDT every Tuesday thru Thursday and are free of charge. Technicians can register at www.tireindustry.org/automotive-tire-service-webinars. For questions, contact [email protected].
