Kumho Tire Co. Inc.'s plant in Macon, Ga., has resumed production.
"We decided to reopen our Macon plant yesterday, and it has resumed production with enhanced safety procedures until the 15th of this month," a Kumho spokesperson told MTD.
"We will continue to monitor the situation closely, check the production status of our OE partners, and determine whether to keep it open through the end of the month."
Kumho shut down the consumer tire plant in early-April “in response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation," the company said at the time.
The plant, which opened in 2015, can produce 11,000 passenger tires per day at full capacity, according to MTD research.
