Hankook Plans Two-Week Plant Shutdown in Tennessee

March 25, 2020

Hankook Tire America Corp. will shut down its tire plant in Tennessee for two weeks, beginning March 30. The company says production will be shut down from March 30 to April 12 "to protect the health and safety of its employees and in response to market demand that is being impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19)."

Hankook's U.S. warehouses, including the one located at the site of the Clarksville, Tenn., factory, will continue to operate.

The company's plants in Asia will support the U.S. region, if needed, by providing production help, shipments and supplies of raw materials. "Hankook does not anticipate any interruption in sales.

"Hankook’s first priority is keeping its employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company will continue to follow all federal, state and local guidelines as the situation continues to develop. Hankook will continue to work together to keep employees and stakeholders healthy and safe."
