CMA targets radial OTR market

China Manufacturers Alliance (CMA) is entering the radial off-the-road (OTR) tire segment.

"We'll have six key sizes comprising 90% of the market," says CMA CEO Jeff Kreitzman.

The OTR units will be made at the same Shanghai Tyre & Rubber plant in China that produces CMA's Double Coin radial commercial truck tires. "We hope to be testing them by the end of the year."

The tires will be available by the first quarter of 2002, according to company projections. A brand name has not yet been chosen.

CMA, based in Valencia, Calif., also has introduced two new Dynastar brand forklift tires -- a solid pneumatic and a solid press-on -- which are available in 120-plus SKUs, Kreitzman says.
