Audi Selects Kumho Tire for Q5 Series

Audi has picked the Kumho Crugen Premium KL33 to be the original equipment tire on its new Q5 series. According to Kumho Tire Co. Inc. officials, the Crugen series “developed in line with the emergence of urban SUVs, and it has been recognized worldwide as an SUV-exclusive tire brand.”The Premium KL33 features Kumho's advanced silica compound for enhanced traction, tire life, and reduced rolling resistance. “Additionally, it boosts the vehicle's fuel economy and offers comfort,” and provides other benefits, say Kumho officials.

The Crugen Premium KL33 is being produced at Kumho’s plant in Macon, Ga., and will supply the Q5 series’ production site in San Jose Chiapa, Mexico.

 “As a testament of our ongoing commitment to excellence, our products will be produced in high volume and make to fit the specifications of Audi’s Q5,” sats Kim Insoo, Kumho’s senior vice president, OE sales. “Demand for SUV in the United States is booming, and we will remain devoted to developing our SUV tires to satisfy the needs of all our customers.”
