Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has extended the timeline to submit nominations for the 2020 Highway Hero Award, which recognizes truck drivers who protect the safety of others.
The award is open to full-time truck drivers residing in the U.S. or Canada.
Other criteria include:
- The heroic incident must have occurred in the U.S. or Canada;
- The nominee's truck must have had 12 wheels or more at the time of the incident;
- Nominee must have been on the job, or on the way to or from work in his or her truck, at the time of the incident; and
- The incident must have taken place between Nov. 16, 2018, and Nov. 16, 2019.
Nominations can be submitted here and must be submitted by Jan. 31, 2020.
A panel of trucking industry representativs will select the Goodyear Highway Hero from three finalists. The winner will be announced in March 2020 at the Mid-America Trucking Show and will receive a cash award and other prizes. Each finalist also will receive a cash prize and other items.
